Neben frischen Optik-Accessoires erhielt der geliftete Ford Kuga eine Menge an Assistenzsystemen. Wir testen ihn als edlen Vignale mit 180-PS-Diesel.

Ford hat eines seiner beliebtesten Modelle - das Kompakt-SUV Kuga - gründlich überarbeitet. Optisch erkennbar am neuen, trapezförmigen Kühlergrill, schmäleren Scheinwerfern, LED-Tagfahrlicht und neu gestalteten Heckleuchten.
Im Technik-Bereich gibt es noch mehr Neuigkeiten: Das 22 Zentimeter messende Display auf der Mittelkonsole erhielt eine höher auflösende Grafik, das SYNC3-Infotainment bietet neben mehreren Apps auch eine der besten Sprachsteuerungen. Mit Apple CarPlay und Android Auto kann der Kuga ebenfalls etwas anfangen.
Gleichzeitig wurden die Bedien-Elemente im zuvor gar unruhigen Innenraum reduziert, die getestete Automatikversion hat serienmäßig Schaltwippen zum manuellen Gangwechseln dabei. Ebenso serienmäßig öffnet die elektrische Heckklappe per Fußwackeln und das Lenkrad ist auf Wunsch beheizbar.
Zwei Ausstattungslinien kamen im Zuge des Facelifts dazu: "ST-Line" (sportlich) und "Vignale" (luxuriös). Der getestete Vignale bietet ab Werk Luxus pur - etwa Lederpolsterung, Zweizonen-Klimaautomatik, Tempomat, 18-Zoll-Alufelgen, Rückfahrkamera, ein Premium-Soundsystem samt Navigation von Sony, adaptive Bi-Xenon-Scheinwerfer und sogar eine Einpark-Automatik.
Dazu kommen Vignale-Erkennungsmerkmale wie wabenförmig gesteppte Sitze, ein chrom-umrandeter Frontgrill im Vignale-Design, Front- und Heckschürze in Wagenfarbe mit integriertem Diffusor hinten, sowie Seitenschweller und Radhausverkleidungen ebenfalls in Wagenfarbe.
Wie immer bemerkenswert: die Fahraktivität des Kuga, der neuerdings noch flotter und neutraler ums Eck flitzt, ohne nennenswert an Komfort einzubüßen, und sehr exakt einlenkt. Seinen hohen Aufbau lässt er sich dabei nicht anmerken.
Den bemerkt man dafür gleich, nachdem man Platz genommen hat: Luftige Raumverhältnisse für alle Insassen, vier 1,90-Meter-Männer mit breiten Schultern können sich selbst auf längeren Fahrten wohlfühlen.
Der Kofferraum ist mit 456 bis 1653 Litern anständig groß, die schmalste Stelle zwischen den Radhäusern misst mehr als einen Meter.
Mangels Kellerfach entsteht beim Umklappen der Fondlehnen (2:1) eine Stufe, dafür ist die Ladekanten-Höhe mit 68 Zentimetern für ein SUV erfreulich niedrig geraten. Das Ablagen-Angebot ist zahlreich, aufgrund des Wegfalls der Handbremse im Zuge des Facelifts gibt es nun zwei Becherhalter in der Mittelkonsole.
Die Sitzposition ist ergonomisch – etwas erhaben, aber nicht so sehr, dass man sich nicht mehr ins Fahrzeug integriert fühlen würde. Abgesehen vom eingeschränkten Blickfeld nach schräg hinten ist die Übersicht sehr gut, zusätzlich gibt es akustische Einparkhilfen rundum.
Fürs Vordringen ins leichte Gelände hat der Kuga mit Allradantrieb gute Voraussetzungen: Seine elektronik-unterstütze Lamellenkupplung leitet beim ersten Ansatz durchdrehender Vorderräder Kraft an die Hinterachse weiter. Das spart Sprit beim normalen Dahingleiten und funktioniert auf rutschigem Terrain schnell und souverän, zumal durch Bremseingriffe auch einzelne Räder am Durchdrehen gehindert werden. Dazu gibt es fast 20 Zentimeter Bodenfreiheit und eine - nicht nur offroad sinnvolle - Berganfahrhilfe.
Der Kuga-Diesel geht auch in seiner stärksten Version (180 PS) harmonisch und kultiviert ans Werk. Mit bärigen 400 Newtonmetern Drehmoment schiebt er in allen Lebenslagen kräftig an. Die Doppelkupplungs-Automatik "PowerShift" schaltet dabei schnell, sanft und stets zum richtigen Zeitpunkt.
Als Mixverbrauch gibt Ford 5,2 Liter für den Kuga mit 180 Diesel-PS, Allradantrieb und Automatik an - exakt der gleiche Wert wie mit Schaltgetriebe. Im Test kamen wir auf 6,6 Liter, womit sich der Kuga im Klassenvergleich sehr gut schlägt und praktisch nicht mehr verbraucht als die 150-PS-Version.
Muss man einmal doch tanken - bei 60 Litern Tankinhalt passiert das üblicherweise erst nach rund 900 Kilometern -, erfreut man sich am "EasyFuel"-System ohne Tankdeckel und wundert sich gleichzeitig, warum man bei den meisten Mitbewerbern noch immer einen Deckel abschrauben muss.
Als Preis ruft Ford für den 180-PS-TDCi mit AWD und "PowerShift" in luxuriöser "Vignale"-Ausstattung 46.500 Euro auf. Klingt nicht nach wenig, angesichts der Ausstattungsfülle relativiert sich das allerdings enorm zum Günstigen. Es wird aber noch besser: Aktuell gilt ein zeitlich nicht beschränkter Aktionspreis von 41.090 Euro.
Freunde von Assistenzsystemen sollten unbedingt in das "Fahrer-Assistenz-Paket" investieren. Das bietet um konsumentenfreundliche 1.200 Euro City-Notbremsassistent, Spurhalte-Warner, aktiven Spurhalte-Assistent, Fernlicht-Automatik, Müdigkeitswarner, Toter-Winkel-Assistent und Verkehrszeichen-Erkennung. Dazu noch beheiz- und anklappbare Außenspiegel sowie Frontscheiben-Heizung.

Dank des aktuellen Facelifts ist der Ford Kuga 2.0 TDCi AWD technisch und optisch wieder absolut modern. Beim getesteten Vignale kommt eine ordentliche Portion Luxus dazu, ohne die praktischen Werte zu vernachlässigen. Und unterm Strich steht derzeit ein sozial verträglicher Aktionspreis.
